Why custom made?
There's a belief, that hose people makes customized shoe, whom got orthopedic problems with their feet. Partway it's true, because already with a small bunion can cause such a suffer in a ready to wear shoe...
With a custom made shoe eg. this problem can solved easily. THe last shoul be attached wit a piece of leather or cork, and the bunion would have its place inside of the shoe. There are some other small imperfectoin wich can be handled easily, like "hammer toe"...
-Custom made shoes are customized for your feet. Have you ever the feeling, when picked up a new shoe, was tight and took ages get comfortable. Most of the feets got different width than the industrial lasts. The lasts mostly got mid-widht-size, but if the customer got wider feet? The shoemaker carefully meassure the feet, and add the last width, so the shoe wond feel untrodden.
-Custom made shoes got better quality. The shoe desen't made in mass production, so every single piece got bigger attention so the quality assurance is higher. By a hand made shoe, there's more then a hundred different actoin in several hours, so if there's any imperfections, will come up.
-Custom made shoes are unique. Mostly when You order a custom made shoe, mostly You can chose the patern, the colour and materials. So the shoe can be one of a kind.
Certainly if theres only a limited amount of choice, than it will be almost a one of a kind. :-)
-Custom made shoes last longer and can repaierd. My opinion, that a custom made shoe made with leather sole. The leather sole can be replaced or repaired, wich is not dead true for the rubber sole. And i have to mention, that most of the industrial shoes made so, that the upper and sole got broke almost the same time. So why we expect from an upper, that should hold for ages, when the sole -wich is less then 2mmm- wear off in a half year. A good quality shoe can repaired, and if the upper taken care, the sole can be replaced several times.
On the picture the sandlal is taken to apart, because the upper got a bit too wide, so I lasted it again so it got narrower, and fit to the feet.
There's several more advantage and in time I'll fill out this blog.
